Second-cycle degree programmes

A graduate of the second-cycle studies in the field of Management receiving a master’s degree, has specialist theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of management sciences and complementary sciences regarding the essence, regularity and problems of the functioning of enterprises and the methods of effective and efficient solving these problems. He has specialist knowledge necessary for the efficient management of enterprise resources and efficiently formulates opinions on management problems. The graduate has skills in the use of knowledge in practice: critical analysis, formulation of judgments, interpretation and evaluation of management phenomena and processes on various scales, assessment of the impact of the environment on these phenomena, as well as preparation and making management and strategic decisions.


EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:

It is prepared to actively participate in economic and social life on the local and global market. The second-cycle studies prepare the graduate to take managerial and expert functions in the economy in Poland and abroad, in manufacturing, commercial and service enterprises, as well as in the finance, banking, insurance sectors, consultants in economic or public organizations, and also to conduct own activity The graduate is prepared to take on research challenges and communicates efficiently with the environment. They are prepared to continue their education at third cycle (doctoral) studies and to continue their education throughout their lives (scholarships, postgraduate studies, courses, internships). The participation of employers in shaping the concept of education is taken into account in the process of conducting internships and in shaping the specialization program.

Admission to second degree studies is restricted to persons who hold the title of master’s degreee (MSc), engineer, bachelor’s degree (BSc) or equivalent.

The candidates are admitted according to the ranking list based on the adjusted score indicated on the completed studies diploma and the compatibility or relatedness of completed studies with the selected second degree course.

If the completed course :

  • is compatible with the second degree course, the number of points scored is equal to the adjusted score indicated on the diploma plus two,
  • is related to the second degree course, the number of points scored is equal to the adjusted score indicated on the diploma plus one.
  • is neither compatible nor related to the second degree course, then the score is equal to the adjusted score indicated on the diploma.

A first degree course is compatible with the selected second degree course if it is the same type of course (with the title bachelor’s degree (BSc), engineer or equivalent.

Related courses are: economy, finance and accounting, computer science and econometrics, logistics, commodity science, management and production engineering.

In the case of the same place in ranking list an additional criterion is the adjusted score of a diploma examination grade.

The final grade, grades for the completed courses and the mean grades (S) granted according to grading systems in other schools and universities are adjusted to the final grade, grades and mean grades (N) according to the grading system used in the University of Zielona Gora according to the following formula: N = 3 ( S-m) / (M – m) + 2, where M is the maximum and m is the minimum (pass grade/qualifying) grade used in the other schools or universities.
