Check the detailed rules for converting recruitment points:

Admission to second degree studies is restricted to persons who hold the title of master’s degreee (MSc), engineer, bachelor’s degree (BSc) or equivalent.

The candidates are admitted according to the ranking list based on the adjusted score indicated on the completed studies diploma and the compatibility or relatedness of completed studies with the selected second degree course.

If the completed course :

  • is compatible with the second degree course, the number of points scored is equal to the adjusted score indicated on the diploma plus two,
  • is related to the second degree course, the number of points scored is equal to the adjusted score indicated on the diploma plus one,
  • is neither compatible nor related to the second degree course, then the score is equal to the adjusted score indicated on the diploma - if the completed first/second cycle of studies is other than compatible or related, the candidate is obliged to submit a diploma supplement/transcript to the Recruitment Office (to the address rekrutacja@uz.zgora.pl) before the commencement of the qualification. On the basis of the verification of the supplement/transcript, the Examination Committee will assess whether the candidate has the appropriate competences necessary to take up education in the selected field of study.

In the case of the same place in ranking list an additional criterion is the adjusted score of a diploma examination grade.

A candidate applying for admission to studies should have the competences necessary to undertake education at the second-cycle studies in the field of data engineering, in particular:

  • knowledge in the field of mathematics and computer science allowing it to be used in various fields depending on the chosen specialty,
  • the ability to use mathematical methods and IT tools to solve basic theoretical and practical problems.

for data engineering studies, the following fields of study:

is compatible: are related:
  • data engineering
  • e-business,
  • economics,
  • computer science,
  • computer science and econometrics,
  • mathematics.

number of additional recruitment points:

explanation:

  • a field of study in accordance with the chosen field of study is the same field of completed first-cycle studies with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent in the case of studies abroad)
  • a degree with a master's degree is not considered to be compatible with the

explanation:

  • a degree with a master's degree is not recognized as related

Additional recruitment points are not assigned in the case of:

  • when the field of study completed by the candidate is neither compatible nor related to the field of second-cycle studies.

For example, a candidate majoring in:

  • first-cycle studies in data engineering, receives 2 points
  • first-cycle studies in economics, awarded - 1 point
  • first-cycle studies in biology, obtains - 0 points
  • second-cycle studies (Master's degree) data engineering, receives - 0 points

The final grade, grades for the completed courses and the mean grades (S) granted according to grading systems in other schools and universities are adjusted to the final grade, grades and mean grades (N) according to the grading system used in the University of Zielona Gora according to the following formula: N = 3 ( S-m) / (M – m) + 2, where M is the maximum and m is the minimum (pass grade/qualifying) grade used in the other schools or universities.

If the completed first/second cycle of studies is other than compatible or related, the candidate is obliged to submit a diploma supplement/transcript to the Recruitment Office (to the address rekrutacja@uz.zgora.pl) before the commencement of the qualification.

The Diploma Supplement/Transcript is an official document that contains detailed information on the field of study completed, the qualifications acquired and the skills and competences that the graduate has acquired during their studies.

On the basis of the verification of the supplement/transcript, the examination committee will assess whether the candidate has the appropriate competences necessary to take up education in the selected field of study.

Verification of the supplement is scored on a scale of 0 – 1 point, where:

  • 1 point - means that the candidate has the appropriate competences and skills and can be qualified for studies,
  • 0 points - means that the candidate does not have the appropriate competences and skills and will not be admitted to studies.
