In the case of the same place in ranking list an additional criterion is the adjusted score of a diploma examination grade.

A candidate applying for admission to studies should have the competences necessary to undertake second-cycle studies in the field of physics, in particular should have:

• knowledge in the extended field of physics, concerning the basic theories, methodology and scope of research in physical sciences, knowledge in mathematics necessary for the quantitative description of physical phenomena and their modeling at an intermediate level of advancement, and knowledge of the theoretical foundations of computational methods and computer techniques used to solve typical problems in the field of physical sciences,
• the ability to describe and interpret basic physical phenomena and processes, as well as to plan and perform experiments or observations on physical issues, and the ability to build, based on empirical data, simple mathematical models adequate to the physical issues under consideration,
• knowledge of basic research techniques and tools used in the physical sciences.
